Lube…Almost Kosher

If you keep up-to-date on the latest Jewish news, you probably were shocked to find out that Jews can now buy Kosher lube.

Trigg Laboratory in California received the first ever Kosher certification for its line of Wet products in the United States and Canada from the Rabbinical Council of California July 18.

Unfortunately, after the RCC found out what lube was it revoked the certification this week. The RCC released released the following statement:

“Certification of non-edible items is common in the kosher industry, but the intended uses of these items as now revealed, was misunderstood. The RCC has rescinded its certification with immediate effect, and deeply regrets the widespread consternation that this error caused.”

To show that its products were created to industry standards, the company printed the “K” for kosher on its packaging as a way to say it “maintains the highest standards of purity and answer to a higher authority,”  said Dean Draznin, company spokesman for the Wet line.
