U.S. Gold Medalist is American flag bearer in 2013 Maccabiah Games

Garrett Weber-Gale, U.S. Olympic swimmer and two-time gold medalist at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, carried the American flag for the opening ceremony at the 19th Maccabiah Games in Jerusalem July 17.

He recorded himself on Vine saying “this is about to be the craziest experience of my life.”

Gale is from Stevens Point, Wisconsin and competed for the University of Texas before beginning his Olympic career.  Gale and his family started AthleticFoodie in 2008, a website that assists people in healthy living through a balanced diet.
