Heidi Fleiss avoided handcuffs yesterday after being caught with 392 marijuana plants thanks to her 2011 Animal Planet reality show, “Heidi Fleiss: Prostitutes to Parrots”…
…that and giving authorities consent to search her property without a warrant.
Fleiss’ exotic birds, valued at $200,000, which she keeps at her Pahrump, Nevada home was the reason given by authorities for not arresting the once notorious “Hollywood Madam” after finding nearly 400 marijuana plants during a search of her property.
We don’t have facilities for exotic birds, and they are pretty rare and very expensive” — Nye County Sheriff Anthony De Meo told CNN
Fleiss told detectives she was growing the plants to sell to a cooperative in Las Vegas, about 55 miles to the east, CNN.com reported.
It turns out she couldn’t provide the correct documentation and didn’t have a license to grow the plants. Fleiss was charged with several crimes including possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a home where drugs are sold/used, according to TMZ.com.
