First Ever YouTube Music Awards: Who’s Jewish

On Nov. 3 the first ever YouTube Music Awards presented by Kia will be streamed live from Pier 36 on Manhattan’s West Side and viewers can log on to YouTube to catch all the action.

For the past 12 months every like, click, watch, and share of YouTube videos helped determine the nominees and soon to be announced winners.

The awards will be hosted by Reggie Watts and Jason Schwartzman, who is a half Jew. Cast your vote NOW.

 Breakthrough

Up against Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis is Britain’s own Michael David Rosenberg, known to the world as “Passenger.” He’s a nominee in the YouTube Music Awards’ Breakthrough category. Rosenberg, 29, is a former member of the band Passenger but decided to keep the name when they split in 2009. His hit song, “Let Her Go” has topped charts in 16 countries so far.

Innovation of the Year

The New York chiptune-rock band Anamanaguchi is literally a tribe — all four members are Jewish. The band “makes loud, fast music with a NES from 1985,” according to their website. For those that are too young to know, a NES is a Nintendo.

Video of the Year

There are no apparent Jewish nominees for the Video of the Year category, but one video from the series “Epic Rap Battles of History” created by Nice Peter and EpicLLOYD aka Peter Shukoff (sounds Jewish) and Lloyd Ahlquist does feature Moses.
