How did you meet?
We did the Stagecrafters teen production of The Wedding Singer together in 2014. That is when we got together; however, we grew up in the same neighborhood.
Do you have any interesting stories to share about getting to know one another?
When we got cast in The Wedding Singer, I (Ally) had to drive Greg to rehearsal because he didn’t have his license yet. Those hours in the car are the reason we got to know each other.
How long did you know each other before you got married?
Many years. Probably around 15?
Your engagement circled back to how you met. Can you explain?
In April 2024, we were home for the Jewish holidays. Greg asked me if I’d want to be part of an alumni video for Stagecrafters’ 50th anniversary. He took me to the place where we did the show, and we were on video talking about our experience. We then sang a song from the show, “Grow Old With You.” In the show, Greg’s character proposes after that song—so he proposed after we sang it!
What was the best part of wedding planning?
We both loved writing our vows.
Were there any conflicts between the two of you or your families in the planning process? Did either of you have to make any sacrifices?

We had to be specific about the guest list. Greg is the 24th of 24 grandchildren on his dad’s side. His parents had to sacrifice inviting many of their friends.
What was the most fun or interesting Jewish aspect of your wedding/partnership?
We got to have Greg’s cousin, Rabbi Aaron Portman, officiate!

Ally and Greg also donated their wedding flowers to BigHearted Blooms, giving them a second life to brighten the days of people in assistant living facilities. Turn to page 24 to read more.
